Our repair philosophy
Critical home repair protects the home you already own. We focus on urgent needs such as roofing, heating and cooling, structural integrity, weatherization, ramps, and other accessibility improvements.
Repair work is not a cosmetic remodel or a way to add luxury features. It is targeted work that helps a home remain safe, healthy, accessible, and suitable for essential occupancy.

Household income in the source packet is listed between 30% and 80% of area median income:

The repair partnership
Approved households do not simply receive a free remodel. The program is a partnership with classes, communication, approved sweat equity, and responsibilities explained by HRHFH before work begins.
The source packet lists approximately 20–50 hours of sweat equity based on family size. Staff will explain what activities qualify for your household.
Applicants complete required education, stay in contact with the team, and help the project move forward from application through completion.
Repair scope is determined by the home’s essential needs, available resources, and the work HRHFH can responsibly complete.

Cosmetic improvements alone are not the focus of this program. Call us if you are unsure whether a roof, heating and cooling, accessibility, weatherization, structural, or other essential occupancy issue may qualify.
